The World Cleanup Day Uganda press briefing was convened on 18th September 2025 at the Imperial Royale Hotel, Kampala, bringing together government officials and the media to discuss Uganda’s participation in the global World Cleanup Day initiative. The briefing highlighted the significance of United Nations General Assembly Resolution 78/122, which designates 20th September as World Cleanup Day, and outlined Uganda’s commitment to environmental protection, public health, and sustainable waste management. Key speakers addressed the growing challenges of plastic, textile, and fashion waste, emphasized community participation, and called for collective action ahead of the nationwide cleanup activities scheduled for 20th September 2025.
