Political Security

Political insecurity is manifested in political instability, which is defined as the propensity of a government to collapse either because of conflicts or rampant competition between various political parties. Major causes include;

Political repression: is the persecution of an individual or group within society for political reasons, particularly for the purpose of restricting or preventing their ability to take part in the political life of a society thereby reducing their standing among their fellow citizens.

Human rights violations: occur when actions by state (or non-state) actors abuse, ignore, or deny basic human rights (including civil, political, cultural, social, and economic rights). … These organizations collect evidence and documentation of alleged human rights abuses and apply pressure to enforce human rights laws.
